I like to do this kind of cake... Its so simple, easy and nice combination too! Although I prefer roses made from fresh cream but when you ran out of the time and stock, you can just use whatever you think it will suit the cake.
The icing is fresh cream then sugar paste flower and a heart sign Happy birthday is made from chocolate with strawberry paste.
